Conditions for Fellowship
1John 1:5-10 To Walk in the Light is a condition to maintain intimacy with God not to attain intimacy with God. Intimacy with God is a blood bought gift from God but to maintain and grow that intimacy with God you need to Walk in the Light. In fact, to Walk in the Light is a sign that you really do have intimacy with God.
Power
John 1:19-34 Nothing has the power to transform your life like intimacy with God. Intimacy with God is enjoying the riches of God’s Glory (His indescribable greatness and unimaginable goodness). In this text we see some very deep changes in John the Baptist. If that is true about him, though he knows very little about the coming of the Messiah compared to us, even more…
Relationships
James 3:18-4:12 Relationships don’t put us in conflict with each other as much as they put us in conflict with our own sinful nature. I.W.G. Experiencing His Grace
Exodus 34:6-7 Intimacy with God is life’s most satisfying reality. Nothing can rob you of intimacy with God, except idolatry. I.W.G. Communing with God
Intimacy with God is an enchanted reality in a disenchanted world. Intimacy with God is the end to which both creation & redemption are the means. It is the goal of both our theology and spiritual disciplines. The definition of Christianity!
Intimacy with God
Luke 7:36-50 In our text we meet two people, one a very religious moral man and the other a very irreligious immoral woman. Both are drawn to Jesus, both are in the presence of Jesus, both are listening to Jesus’ teaching. But one leaves distant, indifferent and unchanged. The other leaves feeling close to God, lavished by His love and transformed by His grace. In a…
