At DBCC, it is our mission to help others become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Our motto is that DBCC is a place where strangers become friends and friends become family.  

The hospitality team plays a vital role in both. Full devotion to Christ can be contagious and is evidenced in how we engage with others. Our devotion to, and love for Christ, is tangibly demonstrated every time we help strangers and regular attenders feel welcomed and comfortable. Transitions from stranger to friend and family member are the natural by-product of that tangible demonstration.

There are a number of scriptures that encourage every Christ follower to be hospitable. A few that stand out to us are listed below.

1 Peter 4:9-11 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies–in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. 

Philippians 2:1-5 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, ² complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. ³ Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. ⁴ Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. ⁵ Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.
