Sermons on John
Over the centuries church “membership” has become less like what God intended and more like what quenches our earthly desires. Culturally “being a member” is more relative to a “club” that serves its customers, offering narrowly defined enjoyments, a singular identifying label and limited benefits that can expire. On the contrary, God’s vision for church membership is…
John 4:16-26 | Why do Christians gather every week? What are we doing? We gather to worship. Not to be entertained, not because it provides social standing in the community, and we certainly don’t meet to fulfill some sort of religious duty. We’re gathering because of this: We are Worshippers!
John 3:1-16 The Christian life is not about becoming a “NICE” person but about becoming a “NEW” person. It is not a morally restrained will (Self-improvement/Self-help/How-to) but a supernaturally transformed heart. The Christian life is not a call to morality and religion but a call to repent and believe in Christ Jesus (Mark1:15). It is about being Born-Again.
John 1:19-34 Nothing has the power to transform your life like intimacy with God. Intimacy with God is enjoying the riches of God’s Glory (His indescribable greatness and unimaginable goodness). In this text we see some very deep changes in John the Baptist. If that is true about him, though he knows very little about the coming of the Messiah compared to us, even more…

John 1:14-18 We were created by God, for God, to See, Savor, and Show the Glory of God. Nothing is more life-liberating and soul-satisfying than enjoying the riches of God’s glory. The Glory of God is His Indescribable Greatness and Unimaginable Goodness. God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.

When it comes to this subject, we all know that it is possible to be alive, and yet not really have life in its fullest and truest sense. This true life is what we were made for.
John 3:16 There is not a more unshakable foundation for your life than to know that the God of the Universe loves you. There’s a difference between knowing His love & experiencing His love. Experiencing His love chases away the fear, bitterness and despair.
Mark 14:32-35 | Mark 14:27, 50 | John 11:25-26 Easter at Desert Breeze-2017 Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection not only give us a model but also a means to get through days of pain and perplexity and RISE into days of JOY!
John 4:27-42 There is nothing in this world quite like knowing God and making Him known. It beats anything else I’ve ever experienced! Once you’ve tasted of God’s greatness and goodness you have to want anyone else you care about to experience it too. If you don’t, then what you have isn’t very powerful.
